Generosity Timeline
and Impact
Over the last 10 years, approximately 500,000 patients have come through the hospital’s doors. Our community’s spirit of generosity has impacted each and every one of them. Community generosity has:
2000: Opened St. Luke's Wood River due to community generosity that raised over $20 million in 20 months to make our state-of-the-art critical access hospital a reality
2002: Enabled on–site MRI Imaging to help save lives by providing quick diagnosis for injury and illness
2004: Funded Idaho’s first 16-slice CT Scanner to provide more detailed images to treat illness and injury more effectively
2005: Established the P. Scott McLean, Jr., MD Endowment for Staff Education to enhance patient care
2007: Established the Emergency Services Endowment Fund to ensure expert emergecy care, including a board-certified emergency physician on staff 24-hours a day, 7 days a week
2007: Equipped two integrated operating rooms with advanced technology for shorter procedures, faster recovery times and improved clinical outcomes
2008: Expanded our Mother/Baby Unit with a more comfortable, roomy family environemnt and two additional birthing suites
2008: Enabled a dedicated, private infusion room for patients to receive chemotherapy or infusion treatments
